Should I wax my snowboard myself or let a pro do it?

Its not hard, or expensive really. I would definitely recommend getting the proper tools and doing it yourself because realistically, you will want to wax your board many times this season, depending on how many times you go. Hiring someone to do it multiple times would most likely turn out to be more expensive. Wax, depending on how much, can start at just $3, and can be purchased at ski & board equipment shops and other sporting good shops (big 5, sport authority, etc.). If you have an old iron that you do not need for anything other than waxing, use that. If not, you can get cheap small travel irons perfect for waxing at places like kmart or fred meyer. The only other tool you really need for waxing is something to sc uneven excess wax off. I know nike sells them, but you could probably find them at other sport outfitters. Don't use just any flat surfaced object, it could scratch your board. When scraping wax off, do so only in one direction, using your thumbs for good leverage.
